Also wondering how often Hotwire updates the available deals? I want to get a great deal, but also willing to wait around if I know more deals will be posted daily/weekly. We are keeping fingers crossed for a 4 star!!

Thanks again soooooooo much!

HOTWIRE shows one hotel at each star level per zone... the hotel with the least expensive price is the one which is offered. Hotels can, and do, adjust their rates all the time based upon their occupancy levels, and this is what brings about a change in the HOTWIRE offerings.

Prices can change fairly often, especially in major cities. While not sure how busy a period in San Antonio late January is, waiting is a bet that rates will go down and while that does happen, rates can also go up, and can change up/down suddenly.

It's best to get a sense of what rates are for comparable properties in the area and look at what HOTWIRE is offering and judge how much possible downside there may further be in rates. For example, if HOTWIRE is showing a property at $80 and the regular rate is $160 (for example), there's probably not a great deal of further downside on the price.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
