cruiseshmooz Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 I have been bidding on Priceline for 1 room, 2 nights, Feb. 12-14 (through this website). I have tried Resort at $110, 115, 120 & 125. I have also tried 3 1/2* at $70 & 75. (Last year we got the Sheraton at $70.Others have won the Marriott, the same dates for $110.Am I too late? Should I keep trying? Thanks.
AaronJB Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 It's still a decent ways away, so I'd pick a "ceiling" ($125, maybe) and bid up to that point once a week for the next month or so. If it's the end of September and still nothing has been accepted, then you could raise the ceiling or look into alternate options.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
cruiseshmooz Posted August 14, 2010 Author Report Posted August 14, 2010 You ar welcome. And thank you for the advice. I booked the Holiday Inn Express at the Senior rate, which can be cancelled at any time. So, at least, we have something.

cruiseshmooz Posted November 6, 2010 Author Report Posted November 6, 2010 After many months of frustration with Priceline, I decided to go for Hotwire's offer of a 3 1/2 star at $122 plus tax (total of $280.86 for the 2 nights. To my surprise I got the Sheraton Conference Centre. I hope it is good. The trip advisor reviews are mixed.Someone posted about this offer on another date and you thought it may be the Courtyard. Just want you to know. Wish me luck! And good luck to all other bidders!

Did it include tennis or a resort fee?It included, casino, non smoking rooms, fitness, pool, restaurants, business center, laundry and internet access. Nothing about tennis. They mention that there is a resort fee of about $20 per night. Hope it will be less!

thereuare Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I believe there are still other amenities associated with this property which would not have been seen unless you clicked the 'See all' link during the check-out process... if you go back to HOTWIRE and click the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page, do you see two additional amenities (Golf and Spa icons) associated with this property? Thanks! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cruiseshmooz Posted November 8, 2010 Author Report Posted November 8, 2010 I went back as you said. I didn't see icons. However, there was a list of amenities in script and it did include spa and golf nearby.I am glad that I booked it. I was dallying for the few days it was offered. Yesterday, I noticed it was gone. (Don't know about today). On Cruise Critic, there were some comments that were positive. Since it's just for pre-cruise, I don't care about the location. If the weather is nice we will be at the infinity pool which is supposed to be gorgeous. If not, we can always take a bus or taxi into OSJ.
thereuare Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Thanks for the follow-up and glad to hear that this will work for your needs.Enjoy your stay and cruise. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
