I have never tried Priceline, and wonder what would be a realstic bid on a 3 star (or higher) hotel in Manhattan from July 3 - July 9, 2011? Any experience in that period? ;o)

We are two adults and one 9 year old girl.

While the 4th of July is rather busy, this is generally a somewhat slower period of time in the city. Additionally, if you need bedding for more than 2 people, I'd suggest looking into HOTWIRE instead, where you can indicate the amount of people in the party. PRICELINE guarantees one bed/double occupancy and that is particularly true in NYC.

What would be your desired budget per night and which zones you would be interested in staying within?
