srock Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I was looking for a room in downtown Chicago for one night, 11/13/10. However, availability was very limited and the prices were insane. So instead, I bid for a room in Schaumburg. The Marriott and Hyatt Regency there are both 3.5 stars. Used the PRICELINE link, started at $30/night and was rejected. There are 12 free rebid zones at that star level. I increased the bid by $2 each time until I got accepted.room: $42taxes and fees: $12.36total: $54.36
AaronJB Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I stayed out in this area at the Hyatt nearby not that long ago, and I'd really recommend going to Ikea if you're looking for something to do nearby. It's fun to browse around, but the food court on the top floor is also actually quite nice (Ikea Restaurant Info) and surprisingly reasonable. Good food, too, I have to say, especially for the price. There's tons of restaurants nearby (and the restaurant in the Hyatt - which looked incredible but I didn't get a chance to try it, is another idea; there is actually a garden in the back of that Hyatt that is used for fresh ingredients by the restaurant.)You could also go a nearby Metra station and take that downtown rather than driving if you wanted.Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE link to start your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
