Priceline Hotel: Last minute trip, 2 weeks in Manhattan $80~120

I'm told I have to spend 2 weeks in NYC starting the 13th til the 26th of November. I realize this is very last minute but still, can't hurt to try. Anyone would like to give me an advice/strategy?

I really wouldn't mind where to stay as long as it's in Manhattan. Would preffer:

- Time Square

- Midtown

but anything goes really.

Any takers?

What zones would you find acceptable for bidding? $120 unfortunately may not be realistic for these dates in Manhattan and trying to bid for 2 weeks straight is going to be problematic during a particularly busy time of year. Times Square and Midtown West are also two of the more expensive zones in the city.

Are you willing to split your stay between multiple hotels? That may still not be enough, but it is another option to consider if no hotels accept within your desired budget range for the entire stay.

Yeah, I really don't care that much, could be upper east, upper west, hells kitchen, madison square, anything would do really. Would you be kind enough to give me an strategy I could try?

I think a reasonable course of action is to start at $100 and work up by $5's towards your max for a 3* in the acceptable zones. If not accepted, try 2.5* and start at $100 and work up by $5's. I would not recommend bidding lower than 2.5*, as 2* really may have quite varying quality and there may be other issues such as shared bathrooms. $120 is unfortunately going to be difficult for this time of year, but hopefully you will luck out; if not, you can also try splitting your stay into two (7/7) or possibly 3 (5/5/4) parts.

HOTWIRE does have a 2* for $113 for the entire stay in the Central Park area, but I would really try to exhaust all possible options on PRICELINE at the 2.5* and above level within your budget before considering an unidentified 2*.
