roothy Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Bid $75 in 4 star category for 3 nights (weekend - Dec. 3,4, 5, 2010) and was accepted. With $29.31 taxes and fees, total for 3 nights was $254.31. Current "promotion" on Priceline claims someone recently got a 4 star for $105, but don't fall for that - bid lower! I may have been able to get it for $70 (don't know), but with it being December and the weekend, decided to start at $75. Thanks, betterbidding and participants, for letting me know this hotel was available in the $70 - 80 range. Information I received from Priceline (or maybe Renaissance) indicates we can't check in until 4pm, so if that bothers you, you may not want to bid. All in all, I'm happy, as my husband can easily entertain himself for 3 days in that area, and I get to check for other places for our other 2 nights - or just bid again on PL. By the way, I have found that at least one hotel a little outside Willemstad, a very friendly B& B type place with good ratings on Trip Advisor, will rent a standard room for $95 including taxes if you negotiate. Judging from prices in Curacao, that's a decent price for a decent place. I'm very sorry - I forgot all about the betterbidding link to PRICELINE - but if I bid again, I will use it.
