Mangomike Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 I'm planning to book 2 nights in Orlando for feb 12-14 and I was wondering what the best bid strategy would be to get this hotel? How much should I expect to pay? Or could someone recommend a different hotel near the airport/parks/shopping. I am trying to get this hotel as it was rated high on trip advisor. Family of 4 with 2 boys 3,4 yrs old. We are planning on staying 2 days after our Disney cruise to shop and see some sights. I'm a complete noob to PL so please bear with me. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
thereuare Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Have you made any decision/plans for your Buffalo pre-flight stay yet? Please post a follow-up to that thread in regards to any decisions or purchases you have made.In regards to your stay above, you can't bid on a specific property, you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose. Also, while not as much of an issue in Orlando as in other areas which are less accustomed to catering to families, PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, which means you could receive a room with only one bed. You can contact the hotel you receive after your purchase and request a room with two beds, but the hotel may be unable, or unwilling, to accommodate your request.Note that with HOTWIRE they show the amenities shown before your purchase and you can often take an educated guess as to the property based upon the amenities associated with the hotel, so this is a better option if you're trying to target a specific property and/or take an educated guess as to what you may receive before your purchase (but still no guarantees). As well, HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensures sleeping accommodations for everyone you included in the search, so that eliminates and double/quad occupancy risk you may encounter with PRICELINE. The trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Mangomike Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Posted October 28, 2010 I was unsure whether I was flying out of Buffalo or take a flight out of Toronto but I just booked my flight from Southwest BUF to MCO. 4 Tickets for $840 total return. I will now try to get the 3.5* Buffalo-Niagra Falls Marriott and I will and update that thread with my status. I will always use your PRICELINE link.As far as Orlando goes. I'm not biased to the Florida Conference centre but I wanted a decent hotel near the airport that provides a shuttle, pool and is close to shopping/parks. Please advise which route I should take and if a 2* or 3* would be just as good. If you needed more info:Date for stay is Feb 12-14th with a departure time of 9:30am on the 14th.1 Room preferrable with 2 Beds. Non smokingPool is a mustShuttle to AirportI have not signed up to HOTWIRE but I assume it would be the same as PRICELINE so if it is $5-10 more to ensure I get a 2 bed room then HOTWIRE it is. Thanks to the BB community and thank you in advance for your assistance.
