TravelForLess Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Hi,I am looking for an accomodation in Montreal for about 40 per night. I don't have demand for star rating. When I look through the history of hotel winning bid for Montreal, I noticed someone got a 2 star Quality INN for $39 in September. Is it possible for me to get something similar? My dates are 12/6 - 12/8. Also, what is the lowest 3* winning bid you have seen for Montreal? There seems to be a big price gap difference between 2* and 3*.Also the area I'm looking for is either Downtown, Laval, or LongueilThanks
thereuare Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!I don't know the lowest priced 3* we have seen in this area, but what really matters is what is avaialble for your dates... if you'd like to try for a hotel in one of the three zones you've indicated above with a $40 maximum bid, let us know if you're willing to pay more for a 3* vs. a 2.5* vs. a 2* OR if your goal is the least expensive 2* or better for this trip and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. TravelForLess Posted October 26, 2010 Author Report Posted October 26, 2010 I jumped the gun a bit early on this one. I should have been more patient. I wanted to be closer to downtown. The good thing is that there's a bus station in front of the hotel. Regular rate is ~85 Canadian dollar a night.I think if I had added a dollar or 2, I could have gotten a 2* in the downtown area.Used the PRICELINE link on BetterBidding.com
thereuare Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Congratulations on your win! While perhaps not your preferred zone, this does look like some nice savings vs. a conventionally booked room and with the bus stop in front of the hotel it sounds as if this should still work for your needs.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay,.
