AndrewC Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Was aiming to get the Catalina Hotel and Beach Resort, which has better reviews than the Carlton which I got. The Carlton surprised me as it is not on the PRICELINE list.I started at $48 w/ SoBe Central, than upped my offer to $54 adding SoBe - Ocean Dr. and $58 adding North Miami. (North Miami only has a 2 star hotel listed and SoBe Ocean Dr. has only > 2.5* OR 2.5* > listed.) All those got rejected. I later tried at $60, $62 and $65 for same paramaters and got rejected. I then tried at $68 and got rejected and got Carlton at $70 when I had SoBe Central and SoBe Ocean Dr. selected so I'm not sure exactly which one it is in.Little disappointed, but it's basically on the beach for one night, so we won't be in the room much except for sleeping anyway. I do appreciate the info from this site even though it didn't work perfectly this time and used the link above to book my stay.
thereuare Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Thank you for sharing your win with the board... sorry to see you're somewhat disappointed with the outcome. If you look at your winning bid confirmation page, what does it say under the hotel name but above the address, as this will indicate which zone PRICELINE classifies this property and will enable us to add it to the Priceline Hotel List.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. AndrewC Posted October 26, 2010 Author Report Posted October 26, 2010 You don't have South Beach seperated so don't say you can't add it to your list.
thereuare Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 If you notice the hotel list:Miami (South Beach) (this zone now sub-divided)... and many of the hotels in the list have the current <sub-divided> zone listed next to their names. AndrewC Posted November 12, 2010 Author Report Posted November 12, 2010 If you notice the hotel list:... and many of the hotels in the list have the current <sub-divided> zone listed next to their names.Central South Beach was the zone.Hotel was good for one night, wouldn't have stayed any longer.Pros: Great location. Let us check in at 10:30AM.Cons: Resort Fee is $13/night. Not the cleanest hotel (Mildew in shower, had to ask for new towels.)
