fattycrab Posted October 25, 2010 Author Report Posted October 25, 2010 Thereuare, Thank you. The Max is 225- 250 with zones which are centrally located such as 1, 2, 3,4, 6, etc...At this point, the hotels are going up every day. May book today. No need to remind me of the links as I use them all of time and mention that in my posts.
fattycrab Posted October 25, 2010 Author Report Posted October 25, 2010 Thereuare, Hello again. I just had the worst experience with PRICELINE. I booked a four star in the Opera/LesHallesand then added Madeline at 200 and then 220. I get the four star Exclusive La Pera and then i go on Kayak to find it cheaperthere. I call PL up and they hung up on me while I was on hold. What gives? The Tripadvisor reveiw is attrocious with talk of Bedbugs, two star ratings. What can I do other than call? This is odd to be sure.
thereuare Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the results. To begin, i don't think you mentioned adding the (Champs Elysees-Opera Quarter West), but it appears from a map that this is the area where this hotel is located, can you confirm that you included this zone in your bidding as well as confirm that this is the zone where PRICELINE places it (you can look on your confirmation page below the hotel name but above the hotel address)I'm not sure the horrid reviews you're referring to but the reviews i read basically sound like this property has a good location but small rooms (which sounds like most of the hotels in Europe :) ). Tripadvisor, Travelocity and Expedia all rate this property 4* so i'm not sure you're going to win any argument that it should be rated less. However, you should be able to get PRICELINE to match the lower price (assuming the room rate you saw is for double occupancy and bookable)Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay... hope it goes better then you anticipate. fattycrab Posted October 27, 2010 Author Report Posted October 27, 2010 Thereuare, Thank you for your response to my predicament and to cleaning upmy post. I thought that I wold let you know that as a serious PLperson, I try to post but never have time to post all my wins for work. Priceline for London, Paris and perhaps other cities is decidedly not the wayto go. My Paris woes get worse. After I bid 225 for two zones, you are correct. I looked at the price of the property online and it was cheaper on multiple sites by about five-ten dollars. Also the Tripadvisor reviews in different languages stated that the property was no way four stars. There is no restaurant, other amenties, etc.. I did contact PL and they ended up not handling the issue very well. The Best Price Guarantee does not resolve an issue where there is an expectation that there will be a value of up to60%. Instead, bybidding, I actually was paying MORE. Numerous calls later to whereverthat call center is, there is no resolution as the front desk of the propertyrefuses to confirm the restaurant issue! Amazing. I hope that you post this somewhere on the site where people can read prior to booking so many nights. The perception of value that PL gives is out of the windowin these European properties and now I am sorry that I bid on PL for Paris and also for London where Hotwire may have been a better option.Talking to PL is waste of time and for these cities, a waste of money.
