chilakeview80 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 10-29-10 $37 Bid for ChampaignLa Quinta was the hotel, 2.5* total with taxes will be $49Do not go lower than a 2.5* then you are stuck at the crappy extended stay. Bid a few days ago at about 4am since I was up and unable to sleep while at home. Great hotel. It is across from the mall (Macy's, Dillards, Sears) and outside mall stores (Kohl's, Maurices).Breakfast is ok, but friend prefer Panera which is just across the street. Get your OJ at La Quinta and walk over to Panera for a proper sandwich. I have stayed a few times in Champaign (Unofficial '07, Unofficial '06, Football games in '09) and we prefer this hotel as one of the cheap hotel options. The best place to stay is at the Union on the Illinois campus, but that runs around $110 a night. I have stayed at the Drury Inn (expensive, but nice), Holiday Inn (nice, but if your room is on the side of the pool = can get loud) but they have a "shuttle" to campus until 10pm or possibly later, and crappy hotels like the Hotel 8. Extended stay = crap. Country Inn and Suites = nice.

I wish they had bananas available as fruit. The staff did let us have a little later check-out as my friend wasn't feeling well. I would stay at this hotel again. I love it and it is cheap.
