snook789 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Great Forum!I'm taking my wife for our 1 year anniversary to NYC next weekendSeen recently people of gotten good rates at the Affinia Shelburne from PRICELINEI would like assistance bidding.I was looking to get another hotel yesterday, and placed a bid, using this sites PRICELINE linkIt was for 4* for midtown west for $130, that got rejected...Please direct me how I should bid again, to try to get the Affinia Shelburne (3.5 ESB)Thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! With PRICELINE you can't bid on a specific property... you must be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you select. If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities shown before your purchase... but of course no guarantees you'll guess correctly. HOTWIRE can also be beneficial if there is a particular amenity you're looking for from the hotel since the amenities are shown before your purchase, but the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE.What are your needs, desired star rating and budget for this stay?Based upon the above let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
