wawaon Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Booked this using the Better Bidding PRICELINE links. Tried it last early last week and couldn't get any movement on a hotel for $45-$50 for the Buffalo Airport area for these dates so I held off . Retried yesterday, and started bid out for 3* at $30, PRICELINE responded with a $40 rebid option (whatever that screen is referred to that tells you you have a more likely shot at a room if you bid a higher defined & suggested amount), so I added an area and bid $32. Now for some reason, it identified that they could not accept this bid as it was a 'duplicate' bid. I closed the browser window, went to the betterbidding.com PRICELINE links, re-input the dates and area again and bid $33 and it was accepted.I'm certain that someone might have an idea why the 'duplicate bid' was identified - would appreciate if you could share your valuable insiight on what I did or did not do correctly (the "duplicate" was one of the bids I made last week, with the same credit card and under the same name, but I had abandoned it ).
AaronJB Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice rate for this Buffalo property! Not sure why there was a duplicate bid detected, but if you had made that exact same bid within the last 24 hours, it will show up as a duplicate.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
