Priceline Hotel: 3.5* San Francisco (Fishermans Wharf) Sheraton

I spent several days over the past two weeks trying to snag a Priceline deal in downtown San Francisco. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear there are any steals for 3 1/2 or 4 stars the week I will be in town.

After approximately 14 bids on multiple days the best I got was $150 at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf for one night. It helped that another person posted on this message board the same winning bid. I don't think better deals are available.

My first bid was $70 in Union Square early last week at four stars.

My final rejected bid was $140 for the Fisherman's Wharf area at 3 1/2 stars.

The first counter offer I received was in the Fisherman's Wharf zone when my bidding reached $130. I never took the counter offer and kept bidding in increments for two more days until I got to $150.

Zones I bid in included:

Union Square West

Nob Hill

Civic Center

SOMA - Moscone Center

Financial District
