Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC Oct 20-Oct 21

First time using priceline and could use some help booking a hotel in pretty short notice. MY strong preference is 4* hotel, but willing to go 3* or 3*+ in Midtown, East or West, or anything close by. I've seen winning bids while searching on priceline.com, however, when I bid the same price I never win. I'm not sure if I'm bidding correctly. You sage wisdom and expertise would be greatly appreciated.

What would be your desired budget per night, and which zones are you interested in bidding on? Additionally, what bids have you already made?

Sorry, I forgot to include my budget and what I've already bid. I've bid up to $225. I've seen wining bids of around $200 on the right side panel on priceline.com when I view the 4* hotel list. I'd prefer Midtown East and West. Times Sq is okay. As is Madison Sq Garden. I'm also okay with Soho, and WES and UES, in that order of preference, but pretty flexible as long as it's in Manhattan. I'd like a 4* and I'd like to pay at or less than $250 per night. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

CPS, Chelsea, Downtown, ESB, Hells Kitchen, MTE, MTW, Times Square and UWS

yes, all are acceptable. But, MTE, MTW, and Times Sq are my preferences.

I'd like to stay under $250 per night for the two nights, so I am flexible on the zone and would like 4* if possible, but I'm willing to go 3*+.

Are you willing to pay more to stay in the MTE, MTW, and Times Sq zones OR is your goal the least expensive out of any of the acceptable zones?

Do you only wan tot bid MTE, MTW and Times Square up to your limit before including other zones... or are you looking for the least expensive 4* hotel in any of the zones you have listed?
