jclark2k Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Tried bidding yesterday night. Started at $100, and kept moving up. Surprised that some people got this rate for much cheaper as I had to go all the way up to $123. One thing I noted was the following:Started bidding the first time at $105. Priceline offered me something for $130, but I turned it down because I thought I could get a better deal. Kept adding areas and went up to $118. My husband started bidding at $118. Priceline then offered us a hotel room for $143, higher than the $130 that I was offered. Anyone experience this? Does priceline bump up the rate based on the price you start at?Anyways, glad to finally get the InterContinental for $123, even though it is higher than what some other people have paid.
AaronJB Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Congrats on your success. :)Very, very nice for this property, which has a very neat history (such as the beautiful pool, which was one of the first pools built on a higher floor in 1929) and a terrific location.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
