Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (Millenium-Loop-Grant Park) Blackstone Renaissance Hotel

So I started my bid then decided to step back and make sure I'm not going to mess up, as the wife will not be happy to end up in a hotel out in Franklin Park!

I want a 4* in NMA-River North, so here is my bid strategy:

NMA-River North - $78

NMA-River North & Lincoln Park - $82 (I've stopped here with no success)

NMA-River North, Lincoln Park, & Franklin Park Area - $86

NMA-River North, Lincoln Park, Franklin Park Area, & Hyde Park - $90

NMA-River North & Midway Airport Area - $92

NMA-River North, Midway Airport Area, & Lincoln Park - $94

NMA-River North, Midway Airport Area, Lincoln Park, & Franklin Park Area - $96

NMA-River North, Midway Airport Area, Lincoln Park, Franklin Park Area, & Hyde Park - $98

NMA-River North & Skokie - $100

NMA-River North, Skokie, & Lincoln Park - $103

NMA-River North, Skokie, Lincoln Park, & Franklin Park Area - $106

NMA-River North, Skokie, Lincoln Park, Franklin Park Area, & Hyde Park - $110

If I can't get NMA for $110 (which is quite possible), then I'll go for Millennium Park.

I have to admit that this Priceline Chicago thread confused me initially, as I was thinking it was saying that 're-bid zone 2' had no 4*, which for me the second re-bid zone is Greater Chicago, which does have 4*, so glad I caught myself. Does everything else look okay before I continue bidding? It may be nice to put a sticky on the Illinois forum that shows what the actual re-bid zones are for NMA and Millennium Park, as it looks like those are (by far) the most often bid zones.

Followed my bidding pattern above and even added:

NMA-River North, Midway Airport Area, & Skokie - $115

NMA-River North, Midway Airport Area, Skokie, & Lincoln Park - $120

NMA-River North, Midway Airport Area, Skokie, Lincoln Park, & Franklin Park Area - $125

NMA-River North, Midway Airport Area, Skokie, Lincoln Park, Franklin Park Area, & Hyde Park - $130

No luck up to $130, so I'll try again tomorrow I suppose. That or decide to go with Mill. Park like I originally planned.

I would try again up to $130 again tomorrow... then start over while including Millenium Park.

If you're willing to stretch your budget, HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Mag Mile - Streeterville zone for $149/nite which his 90% recommended by HOTWIRE users and has a respectable 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating.

Can't see how to edit my initial response (and hence title), but I did finally get a Chicago Hotel. Tried NMA again today up to $130, which didn't work. I then started over at $95 for Millenium-Loop-Grant Park and NMA. I worked up to $115 with no success. Started over with M-L-GP & NMA plus Midway Area at $120 and was successful. Result was:

4* Chicago (Millenium-Loop-Grant Park) The Blackstone Renaissance Chicago Hotel

$120 ... 10/30 - 11/02

I'm quite happy with the Blackstone and expect my wife to be as well!
