Kiwi79 Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Hi guys,I've never used this forum or Priceline/Hotwire before so could do with a bit of guidance here. Hopefully you can help me secure a good hotel at a reasonable price - your help would be much appreciated.I'm going to New York City and staying between 27th December 2010 to 2 January 2011 inclusive (6 nights).I would like to stay in either a 3.5 or 4 star hotel and my budget is under
AaronJB Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The issue with this time period is that the NYE holiday comes in the middle of it, and that is traditionally one of the most expensive dates in NYC; many hotels are either showing very high rates or are sold out. However, the rates after NYE are calmer. Given the problem in the middle of this stay, it may become worthwhile to consider the approach of splitting your stay (possibly 12/27-30 and 12/30-1/2 or other combination) to try and get a deal in your budget. Would that be something you would consider if getting a hotel for your entire stay became difficult?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Kiwi79 Posted October 19, 2010 Author Report Posted October 19, 2010 Ideally I wouldn't like to split the stay. It really depends on the amount of saving I am likely to get by doing so. I'd like to try to get a deal for the entire period, but if it looks like I won't be successful then I will of course consider all options.I think I'd rather stay slightly further afield in say, Upper West, than split my stay.Any tips would be much appreciated.Thanks.
