goulet Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Hi,I will be going to Hong Kong for five nights on October 30th and I was wondering what would be a good strategy to bid on a 5-star hotel? I would like to stay in Kowloon/TST or on the Western HK Island side. Ideally, I would spend around 100$ per night. Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 $100 usually isn't enough for a 5* hotel in this area so i've gone as high as $110 in the strategy below since we've at least seen some wins at this price level. At the 5* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Tsim Sha Tsui...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 5* West Hong Kong Island...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 5* Tsim Sha Tsui and West Hong Kong Island...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. goulet Posted October 19, 2010 Author Report Posted October 19, 2010 Thanks. I want the Conrad but judging from their website, they have limited availability on my dates. Should i wait until closer to October 30th to bid in the 100$ range?
thereuare Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 As anything around the $100 would be at the low end of the historically accepted range, what do you think would be the advantage of waiting? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
