Priceline Hotel: NYC 4* 12/3-12/8 all areas in Manhattan

Hello everyone,

I have used priceline a couple of times and got good deals in Chicago and packet deals with with usually roughly 50% savings. During the last summer, I spent 3 nights at Millenium Hilton for roughly $200 per night.

Now I am looking for a 4* deal in NYC (1room) to spend some nice days in NYC with my girlfriend in basically all Manhattan Areas (I have been starting my biddings with Central Park, then adding in this order Upper East/West, Midtown East/West, TimesSq, Empire State, Madison Sq, Financial, Chelsea, Hells Kitchen).

Regular 4* prices for the time period 12/3-12/8 vary from $385 (Fashon26 in the Madison Area) over some $410 (Millenium Hilton WTC site) to of course as high as you can imagine.

I have maxed out my budget with trying $270 per night and still get no deal. Is there any experienced "priceliner" who could tell me if at least my "strategy" ticking the areas looks promising, or if my price might be unrealistic so close to X-mas, or any other advice?

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated!

:) I just wanted to say I am bidding the same dates and hidding the roadblocks. there is some availability on hotwire in the mid 300s the last time I checked. I have a retail reservation on hold. I think it is our dates.

I am sure you will get tips soon, but just wanted to comiserate.

12/3-8 is during the "peak" in of the holiday shopping/festivity period, and - unfortunately - one of the worst periods of the Winter for hotel rates.

What would be your desired max budget per night? It would depend on the area, but I think you may be looking at as much as $300-325 for a 4* in one of the Midtown areas.

Additionally, any previous wins you can share (even for past stays) would be greatly appreciated?
