kklaws Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I used your site and bid on PRICELINE. I bid $65 for 3* Fort Lauderdale (Downtown-Las Olas-Port Everglades) and was rejected. But, offered to increase my bid up to $85 and it would be more likely accepted. It was accepted at $85.I was really hoping for the Hyatt Place Airport North, but did not get it. We are staying 1 night (pre-cruise). We won the $85 bid on PRICELINE for a room at Riverside Hotel (on Las Olas). It looks like it has decent reviews but is in need of updating. Plus, since the Riverside Hotel does not have a shuttle, we will have to rent a car and pay $17+ for parking. Oh well, in hindsight, I should have probably gone through HOTWIRE. So, we got 3* Riverside Hotel for $85/night (2 room) for 11/20/10 stay through PRICELINE.
thereuare Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Sorry to hear you didn't receive the hotel you wanted, but hopefully you can make this work for your needs. Before renting a car and paying for parking i'd look into the cost of a taxi from the aiprort to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port. It may be about the same as a rental plus parking, and even if a few dollars more, will save you time dealing with the car rental counter at pick-up and drop-off.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay and cruise! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
