MichaelF Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 I used the PRICELINE links on this forum. BIDDING STRATEGYTrying to get a 3.5* in Asheville. All of the 3.5* are in the downtown zone. My bidding strategy is to start with 1 zone (downtown) and then add other zones as I increase the bid. Since I know the only 3.5* hotels are downtown, I'm not afraid of putting in other zones. Someone else on this forum got just Sunday night (10/17) for $55 at a 3.5*. I started my bidding there.OFFERS GIVENREJECTED at $55, $65, $70, $78. ACCEPTED at $86. ($179 on Expedia, 52% off)PRICE3 Nights$258.00 ($86 * 3)$42.21 taxes$300.21 totalQUESTION(Question for senior members - Should I have done just the one night at $55 since someone else won with that and then done Tues/Wed separately?)
AaronJB Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Congrats on your success. :)You may have been able to try to bid for the one night, but then try to extend your stay and see what the response was from the service - most likely a higher rate for the next night. If you tried to bid for the one night, then bid separately for the next night, there's the possibility you could have gotten something different. Still, I think this is a very nice win for the time period.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
