skidharma Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Sheraton Mexico City US$65 per nightSecond week of October.
skidharma Posted October 14, 2010 Author Report Posted October 14, 2010 Greetings,I am new to bidding on priceline and it looks like I have already made an expensive mistake.I bid for a 4 star hotel in mexico city, but my offer was rejected. So I increased my bid and made a required change which was to add a 1 star hotel to the search. The logic was that since there were no 1 star hotels available, the offer would only apply to 4 star hotels. However, Priceline added a 2 star hotel to the search. Now I am stuck with a fleabag 2 star hotel for an outrageous price. My question is, did priceline have the right to add a 2 star hotel to my bid per the priceline terms and conditions? Am I entitled to a refund from priceline?Thank you for any help!David
willbebest Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Sheraton Mexico City US$65 per nightSecond week of October.hi there, I am new to priceline as well, as far as I know, it only applys to anything 4* or better, if you add 1 star, it will only consider 4* and 5*s. No way you get a 2* hotel base on what you said.
skidharma Posted October 14, 2010 Author Report Posted October 14, 2010 I made a terrible mistake bidding on a hotel room. I bid on a 4 star hotel room in Mexico City and my bid was not accepted. So I increased my price and made a required change. The change I made was to add a 1 star hotel to the search with the logic being that since there were no one star hotels available, I could rebid on a 4 star hotel at the increased price. However, priceline "upgraded" me to a 2 star hotel and accepted my offer. Would it be possible to recieve a full or partial refund?
AaronJB Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Please post the details of your win (star rating of hotel received, full name and/or address, and dates of your stay) and we would be happy to comment on your situation above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
willbebest Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 now I understand. so added "1* or better" in your bid... you lucky enough they didn't give you a 1* hotel at your bidding price.
