thereuare Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 The 4.5* property matches previous reports for the MGM Signature while the 4* matches previous reports for the Hilton, so that would be my best guess for each. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. ryanp52188 Posted October 13, 2010 Author Report Posted October 13, 2010 So I'd like to bid on PRICELINE since I'm not able to pull up a deal on HOTWIRE for HRH, but I'm unsure on what to bid exactly. HRH is a 4* and PRICELINE has 5 other hotels at the same level located in the "near strip East" zone. I was wondering if anyone could help me out in this venture? Maybe someone with previous experiences? Thanks!
Romelle Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 There really isn't any way to target a specific hotel with PRICELINE. You can find a little more discussion on it in the PRICELINE FAQ.If people have been generally getting a certain hotel during the same time frame, the odds are better. If the hotel is one of PRICELINE's less expensive offerings on the retail side or as part of a package, again better odds. But no guarantees.Have you looked at HOTWIRE? Sometimes a specific hotel can be detected via the amenities. With a destination like Las Vegas, a gamble on a hotel just seems to me to be part of the whole picture??Romelle
ryanp52188 Posted October 13, 2010 Author Report Posted October 13, 2010 Can't seem to get it on Hotwire, so I was wondering if someone could help me attain the option on Priceline for 10/29-10/31. I know priceline has 5 4* hotels in the "near strip East" zone so it shouldn't be too difficult, but I was wondering what a good starting bid would be? Any help is much appreciated, especially from someone who got HRH on a past bid. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 There is no way to ensure a particular property on PRICELINE; if you bid on a 4* in NSE (for example), you have to be willing to accept *any* 4*'s in that zone. Are you only interested in the HR? If so, I would try to use Expedia coupon FESTIVE10 ($10 off per night) or Orbitz coupon ORBITZ5 (5% off) and see if either of those work for the HR, as if you bid, there is a possibility you could get something else. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
AMoreno Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 The hard rock is going for 81 a night on Expedia, if you can use the 10 dollar coupon, that's a good deal.
ryanp52188 Posted October 19, 2010 Author Report Posted October 19, 2010 The hard rock is going for 167/230 fri/sat for the cheapest room on 10/29-10/31....Where did you get $81?
ryanp52188 Posted October 19, 2010 Author Report Posted October 19, 2010 Also I was wondering if anyone had any idea which room the mgm signature would be just incase I take that one. I ask because if its just the junior suite, getaroom has it for around $50 cheaper a night.
AaronJB Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 HOTWIRE and PRICELINE guarantee a regular/non-upgraded room. One can request an upgrade (the hotel can say no) or pay extra for an upgrade (if the hotel allows), but a standard room should be expected when using either service. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
