Priceline Hotel: 3.5* DC (Dupont Circle-Woodley Park) Marriott Wardman Park

Last Friday I attempted my first priceline bid using hints from this forum. I was successful in getting the Marriott Wardman Park for $92/night, when the going rate is $339-379.

I'm going to a conference that's being held at this hotel so I looked it up and found it is rated 3.5* and located in the Dupont Circle zone on priceline. I also found three other zones that don't have anthing better than 3*, so I knew I could use them for my rebids. Here's the detail:

1) Friday 10/8 at 5.41pm: I selected Dupont Circle zone and 3.5* level and bid $71. It was denied

2) at 5.45pm I added the DC Suburbs zone and increased my bid to $76. It was denied

3) at 5.46pm I added the Georgetown North zone and increased my bid to $81. Denied

4) Finally, at 5.50 I added the Mt. Vernon zone and increased my bid to $92. ACCEPTED!

I'm very grateful to this site and all those who participate so I thought that the least I can do is share my winning bid. Stay tuned for another post from me as I'm going back to DC next week for another conference - this time in the National Harbor zone of DC.
