fLoreign Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 I had two options: to get a place to stay downtown (and 2* is more than $65/night; believe me, I tried) to no avail. But if I stay 8 1/2 miles away, it came down to $37, in a place where the reduced price is $72.I also got the PL bonus bucks, which are only an incentive to move on to minimum 3*. If you want them, make a stay below 3* and I suspect you will be offered it. For me, $50 gain opposed to hundreds of dollars expenses does not make sense to me now, as I still am a graduate student going to a conference.

fLoreign Posted October 16, 2010 Author Report Posted October 16, 2010 Thanks. It appears the downtown prices are realistically doubled in comparison with prices in neighboring regions. Moreover, the price differential between 2*,3* (and possibly even 4*) downtown seems to be little when compared to the price hike associated with changing the zone.
