hookem Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I have been looking around PRICELINE for a few months but never actually risk trying it.I think the time has come, I was looking for a 4* hotel from Nov 24th to Nov 28th in theNMA area. Regular rates are between $200-$240 from what I've seen. I want to bid for a 4* hotel,so there's more possibility that I'll get a two double bed setting or at least the optionof a rollaway bed.I will be doing my part, researching about the topic but I wanted to ask you guys some advice about this bidding during this "harder" dates.Thank you in advance.
AaronJB Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)In terms of two beds, PRICELINE is not recommended if you need two beds, as the service only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy. HOTWIRE is a better choice, as you can indicate the amount of people in the party and at least be assured of some sort of bedding for your entire party. With PRICELINE, you can request two beds, but it's up to the hotel whether or not to grant that request. While not the worst period of the year, this set of dates is busier than usual due to day-after-Thanksgiving shopping and other festivities. The problem in particular is 11/26-28; the 24th-26th is vastly more reasonable - in fact, there are HOTWIRE 4* options for these dates for $89. This may be an instance where you may want to consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID for this stay. What would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
