SuperTrooper00 Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I saw another poster was having trouble with this Resort level in Wailea. I am looking at December 3rd-6th. I have been trying for several days now, using the tips from this site, and have gone as high as $175 with no success. It is showing the median price at $399. Also, Hotwire only has the Grand Wailea showing availability, not the Wailea Marriott. I am not sure if that is an indication for my chances. Thanks for any advice.
thereuare Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! For starters, there is no way to target a specific property when using PRICELINE... you need to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating, or higher, that you select.I have been trying for several days now, using the tips from this site, and have gone as high as $175 with no success. It is showing the median price at $399.The median price shown by PRICELINE is often not accurate, but if it were, the price would indicate that your bids are less than half of prevailing rates, which while possible, is not a high probability expectation.Hotwire only has the Grand Wailea showing availability, not the Wailea Marriott. I am not sure if that is an indication for my chances.HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone (the least expensive is the one shown on a given search), so can't read into this too much. What is your maximum bid for this stay? Do you have a back-up reservation should your bids continue to fail?I am seeing what i believe to be the Makena Beach and Golf Resort for $189/nite if that is of any interest. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Based upon the above let us know your current thoughts and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
LA_FadeAway Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Hi Supertrooper!Have you booked a room yet? If not, you might try your PRICELINE bid again now that it's closer to your travel dates. I just won on priceline the Marriott for $105/nt for six nights checking out Dec. 2, so I'm betting you will have better luck now than you did previously. Happy travels!
