Priceline hotel ratings questionable

I just booked a hotel reservation on Priceline and selected a "resort" hotel. After making the purchase, I was directed to the hotel's web site where I discovered that the hotel is in fact only a 3-star hotel, not a "resort" hotel at all. I quickly called customer service at Priceline to report the discrepancy, only to be told there was nothing they would do for me. They explained that their rating system is different. I would argue that their rating system (in this case) was absolutely deceiving. I cannot recommend Priceline to anyone after this disappointing experience, and if you are willing to risk wasting your money on Priceline, at least DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH before booking your reservations. Tough lesson learned and after the disappointing conversations I had with two Customer Service persons, I will NEVER use Priceline again. I just wonder how a 3-star hotel could possibly receive a resort rating?? The other funny thing is that on this hotel's own web site, there was not ONE positive review of their own hotel!!! If Priceline even checked this hotel's web site, they would have done a better job of rating it. :)

We welcome both positive and negative comments on the board from users, but please post your winning bid in the approprriate state category. Knowing the hotel involved will also add credibility to your story as users will perhpas have a better understanding of your disappointment.
