BargainHunterToo Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 I tried in the later evening for several days, starting at 65 and going as high as $87 using the many rebidding opportunities this area has. No luck. then on 10/6 I tried in the morning before work and started at $70. right away I got a message that they could not accept my bid, but would give me the room for $90 or I could keep trying. Of course I kept trying and got my 4* room for $80 at the Hyatt Regency on King Street. Wonderful location, just what I was hoping for. Now I am wondering how much time of day plays into bidding.

BargainHunterToo Posted October 29, 2010 Author Report Posted October 29, 2010 I thought I would fill you in on our stay after the fact. The location was what we hoped for, but the Hyatt Regency on King West was not really four star in my opinion. The bathroom was tiny and there was no room to put our toiletries or hang up a towel. The toilet ran and ran every time you flushed it unless you jiggled the handle. The light was like an operating room and the noise the fan made was like a jet airplane. The bed was not great either with sheets that kept pulling off and pillows that were uncomfortable. The color scheme in the room did not quite match, like a partial remodel was done. They had public internet access in the business center, but there was a minimum $5.00 charge, which would buy you about 10 mins.On the positive side it was near to public transportation and the theatres were right there. We had a beautiful view of the CN tower which was also nice. So, it was not really Bad, but not really 4 star deluxe!
