darthhaole Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Bid all the way up to $65 for a 4* and got nothing (wanted ORD hotels only and so added zones outside airport zone without 4* rated hotels for additional bids). Switched to a 3* and bid $38. Got an offer to increase bid $11. Added Lincoln Park and changed bid to $45 and got the Wyndham (taxes and fees are $13.94). I'm happy with this since you can't even get a 1* on Expedia for less than $50 for that night. Wyndham Ohare goes for $160 that night on Expedia. Now if I can just get the Disney Swan cheap in late June, I'll be a happy happy bidder.
thereuare Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Congratulations on your win!Nice job realizing that for just one nite you may have been better off lowering your star rating as you did for a much cheaper price than bidding too high just for the sake of a 4 star property.Enjoy your stay and thank you for sharing.
