pigdog
Hi I am a first time Hotel Bidder (successful on rental cars before)Going to NYC Oct 14-19. Would like at least a 3.5+ star hotel. Ideally in Soho or Times square area. But more picky on Star than location. So far my bids have been unsuccessful (only gone up to about $150 so far)Couple questions:Generally do the deals get better or worse as it gets closer?Any actual experiences of New York Hotels allowing four guests with winning bid? is it worth risking?Deals better of worse with longer stays? Thanks in advance for your help Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Rates are date-specific, and can vary significantly over the course of a stay. There is no way to know if rates will go down closer to your stay, but at this point, rates are likely not going to vary much between now and 10/14.It is extremely risky to use PRICELINE for four people in NYC, as there is a good chance you will not get two beds. HOTWIRE is a better choice if you do need more than 1 bed (this can be 2 beds or 1 + sofabed) as you can search for up to quad occupancy. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. thereuare
At the moment i don't think you're budget is going to be enough for a 3.5* in NYC... especially considering you need quad occupancy. Have you checked rates thru traditional booking channels? What is the best deal you're able to find thru conventional booking methods? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
