LETCH Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 In the past I have been able to secure both the Hyatt Jersey City and the Westin Jersey City for very low rates ($85 - $115) using Priceline and Hotwire. Both are really nice hotels with easy access to NYC. I am planning a 3 night trip to the NYC area over the weekend prior to Thanksgiving (11/19 - 11/22).For a limited time the Westin is offering a prepaid non-refundable rate of $139 which is a pretty good deal. I have tried Priceline up to $125 with no luck. With my past success using Priceline I am hesitant to book through Westin. I've also looked on Hotwire during this time period and they don't have a true Hotwire rate for a 4* - they link to Hotels.com for the $139 prepaid rate.Last year during this same time frame I was able to get the Westin for $85. With 6 weeks remaining, should I hold out to see if either the Hyatt or Westin offer discounted rates through Hotwire & Priceline? Thanks for any advice.

Would you have any desire to spend the last nite of your stay in Manhattan? (or perhaps chaning hotels to the new W Hoboken??)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. LETCH Posted October 7, 2010 Author Report Posted October 7, 2010 I will definitely try to do better about posting my wins. The W Hobokken would be perfectly fine. I would definitely consider spending the last night (or all 3 nights) in Manhattan if the pricing was competitive with Jersey City prices. I've been afraid to use Priceline in NYC due to the large number of hotels with small/petite rooms. I will be traveling with my wife & 9 yr old kid so I at least need a king size room. That is not a problem in Jersey City.Thanks.
thereuare Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 If you're comfortable bidding on PRICELINE for triple occupancy i would try SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID... first trying 11/19-11/21... if that is rejected then try 11/20-11/22 (if either are successful you can then try bidding for the remaining solo nite)Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
