My itinerary would be during 12-14 NOV 2010. We will have a few days in San Francisco so I was looking at hotels along BART line or other public transportation.

I added some other zones (USE, USW - Nob Hill) but still no luck. Then, I decided to go a bit further and try Fisherman's Wharf area since all the attractions are within walking distance.

Actually I have already booked a room at Hotel Pickwick (3*) on the same date as my standby option. PRICELINE's rate of Hotel Pickwick was at $71 yesterday when I booked but it's gone up to $95/night today. Not to mention that it was "Pay When You Stay" rate so I am bearing no risk at all. I'm keeping my reservation at Hotel Pickwick ($142.40+taxes) and will remember to cancel it 24 hrs. before the check-in date.
