JeffBurgess Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 I used the PRICELINE name your own price option and decided to pick a 2 star hotel based on PRICELINE's description of 2 star hotel being a Holiday Inn, Ramada, La Quinta. I was shocked when I got a confirmation of my offer being a Super 8 in Hollywood. The Super 8 hotels are listed as a 1 star option/possibility on the PRICELINE website. Calling the Priceline customer service only made me angrier as I was told "that's too bad because Priceline felt that this Super 8 warranted a 2 star rating". This is both misleading and false advertising on the part of Priceline. I will never use Priceline again. Trip advisor reviews stated that the hotel had urine soaked carpeting in the hallways, dirty rooms and a location in an unsafe area. Priceline has lost a former happy customer. To make matters worse, I could have booked at this hotel directly for a cheaper price. Priceline sucks!
thereuare Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Sorry to hear you're disappointed in the outcome. My first thougth is also 1* rating when thinking of the Super 8 brand, but in their defense, Tripadvisor, Orbitz, and Expedia all give this property a 2* rating too, so PRICELINE may not be off the mark or out of line in this rating.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List.If you've found the room rate (before fees and taxes) to be lower then the amount of your bid, PRICELINE does have a Best Rate Guarantee which you an use to try for a refund of the difference. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amount of your winning bid and the date(s) of your stay so we can add this information to the topic title and enable your win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.Hope your stay goes better then expected. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
