someotherguy Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Rates are very high in DC this week and many properties are sold out. I needed 3 nights but was unsucessful so split it into 3 separate 1-day bids. Bidding on Convention Center, Downtown, Dupont Circle, I was rejected at $100, but got the Omni at $120. I tried to extend the bid with an additional day (you get the link to do this by going to "help" and using the query "extend") but was rejected. Next day, I started a new bid for 3/30 and got the Omni again for $120 (I guess they added some availability overnight) and was again unsuccessful trying to extend the bid with an additional day. I started a new bid for 3/31 and got the Mayflower at $100. I'm well satisfied with the outcome.
thereuare Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Thank you for sharing your win with the board. The Omni could have added inventory overnight, but also, some hotels don't participate in the Add A Nite feature, which could also explain your rejected (you didn't say whether or not you had tried previously bidding just the first two nites at a bid as high as $120). Also, you can only use Add A Nite once for a continuous stay, so that could also explain your 3rd rejection.Do you recall the highest rejected bid in the zone (for the one nite stays) before you were accepted at the Omni? Please start a NEW TOPIC for the Mayflower win so we can property record it and have that appear in a topic title as well. Thanks!Enjoy your stay(s). Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
