xristos4 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 hello all. this is my first post and i am trying to get the Mirage in Las Vegas. is there a strategy or a few tips for it?i can find it online now for 556 usd for 4 nights starting Oct. 28. would i save lots if i go through HOTWIRE or PRICELINE?thank you...
AaronJB Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)When bidding on PRICELINE or purchasing through HOTWIRE, one can definitely get terrific discounts, but the trade-off is that one has to be flexible in what hotel they may get. Would you be willing to accept a different hotel or are you primarily interested in the Mirage?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 If you only want the Mirage, please note in our support page that we're an affiliate and please use our Mirage link for your purchase.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. xristos4 Posted October 6, 2010 Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 i am primarily interested in the Mirage because i ve been searching it for quite a few days now and it seems the most appropriate for my honeymoon, location-wise. i would like to be in the middle of things but most other hotels seem to lack on some things, whether that is the price, the coziness, or the convenience. will have a look to the link you sent me though...thank you
thereuare Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 You can't really use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE in this fashion... there is no way to target, or avoid a specific hotel on a zone. You have to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities shown before your purchase... but HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at a given star rating per zone. Therefore, looking at the area and determining which hotel you want is not worthwhile, as that may not be the hotel which is offered on the search for your dates. A better approach is to do a HOTWIRE search, see what meets your zone, star rating and budget criteria... then take a guess as to what it is and determine if it will work well for your plans.Remember, PRICELINE / HOTWIRE are for users who are flexible in their plans and the hotel they receive... not usually ideal if there is a particular hotel you want and are trying to avoid other hotels in the zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (or our Mirage link if you got route)Let us know your thoughts based upon the above and we'll take it from there.
