tripin Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Hello all,I have been bidding for the past week, for 1 room for dates 10/19-10/24. This week appears to be very busy, and hotel prices seem to be up.The last bids that I sent were:$269 for 4* in Tsq, MTW, MTE, ESB, plus re-bid zones. $229 for 3* in Tsq, MTW, plus re-bid zones. I read about splitting the dates, so the last/highest bids I have put in are this:10/19-10/22 - $198 for 2.5* in MSG, Tsq, MTW 10/22-10/24 - $269 for 3.5* in Tsq plus re bid zones-----------------$229 for 3* in Tsq plus a re-bid zoneDo you think I should keep bidding, or should I change my strategy? Should I wait untill it
thereuare Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Have you ever been to NYC before? Would staying in Jersey City (NJ.. a 15 minute train ride away) be an option? Is there a reason you haven't been including the CPS zone in your bidding? Do you have thoughts on the Hudson Hotel... a 'fine' hotel but notoriously small rooms, would this be acceptable? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. tripin Posted October 5, 2010 Author Report Posted October 5, 2010 I have been to NYC before, the person I am coming with hasn't. I did think about hotels outside, but I would prefer to have a base in the city. I did read about the Hudson which is why I did avoid it, and I didn't want to over bid for CPS. I think I may now include CPS in bidding and see what it comes up with. My limit would be $270.
thereuare Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I have an idea (or two :) ) but to determine which i think may best, how are you arriving to the city (drive, bus, train, airport... if any but driving, where do you arrive/depart from (ie- Grand Central, Penn Station, Newark Airport, etc))Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
