Priceline Hotel: NMA Advice Nov 5 - 8

Hi there!

Helping out a friend after the good results that I had booking the Embassy Suites in July!

They need 1 or 2 rooms for 4 people. I know that there is no guarantee for how many beds you get if you bid with PRICELINE - just wondering what would be the better option - bid on 2 rooms with priceline or use HOTWIRE to book 1 room for 4 people ( i think it was the Talbot Hotel that came up for $144 ).

Actually, i'm thinking the 4* you're seeing on HOTWIRE is more likely the Whitehall than the Talblott.

When you ask whether PRICELINE for 2 rooms or HOTWIRE for quad occupancy is 'better'... do you mean which would be cheaper?

Yes, wondering if I could find 2 hotel rooms through priceline bidding for the same price as 1 hotel room through hotwire. They are willing to go with 3-4* and max of $150/nite total.

Is your desired budget $150 a night "all-in" (taxes/fees included?) or $150 + taxes/fees?

You may be able to - at times - get two rooms via PRICELINE for the price of a regular rate room, but not 2 PRICELINE rooms for the price of a comparable HOTWIRE listing.

I'm seeing, when searching for 4 people on HOTWIRE, what appears to be the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza for $125; I'm seeing the Courtyard River North for $149 regular rate on Orbitz when searching for 4 people on that service. Additionally, coupon code ORBITZ5 takes 5% off on Orbitz. The Courtyard is more expensive, but that's a 3* w/a preferable location.

For $212 (and you could use the ORBITZ5 coupon), the Amalfi is available; that's a really very nice, very well-reviewed boutique, which offers breakfast/evening reception. More than you were looking to spend, but nice deal for this quite well-reviewed property.
