LaurenL Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 4* Paris St. Germain Meridian November 12-15As can be seen, fortunately I booked the hotel a few days ago for November 7 for one night @ 140. This will be an extended layover on my way to Prague. But I will be coming back on the 12th and staying for three days. When I saw that the most recent bid that was accepted was $180 I panicked -- did the price go up so fast in just a few days. And yes that happens. Meanwhile I had $50 in Priceline bonus cash. So I went to the Priceline site on this page bid $145, five dollars more than my original bid to which Priceline added $10 a day. Good news it was accepted :) . I suppose the $180 was based on occupancy much closer to the date of the bid. Perhaps I should have tried to start with a lower bid, but let's face it for a four-star hotel in Paris that is still a great price @ $145 plus Priceline bonus cash.Indeed the only place I've ever my life stayed where the rooms were so small was New York.So a bit of advice, probably not needed for folks on this list, but the reminder may come in handy, as soon as you've made a decision of where you want to go make your bid because the chances are more likely that the price will go up than go down.Bon voyageLaurenL
