I don't mind staying in a fleabag when I'm by myself, but with family, we usually like to stay in nicer places.Anyway, I decided to give Priceline a try. I didn't want to spend days bidding and trying different zones/star levels, so perhaps I started my bidding too high. I went with a 4 star in Capitol Hill at $140 and *BOOM* it was accepted. Much to my surprise, I landed at The George, the #3 hotel in DC per TripAdvisor. We're more than happy.EDIT: I don't see how to edit the Topic, but there's a typo. My winning bid was $140, not $148.
