chrismb Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 hi thereive been trying to bid for a hotel in nyc - had no issues so far apart from my bids being too low, but now when i try to re-bid for the same dates/same locations but click a lower star rating (i.e. i was bidding for 3 1/2 now i want to try bidding at the same price but include 3 stars) i get an error message which says: Please verify the following information to continue with your request. Please change at least one part of your original request.the 3 stars part is checked but it isnt that grey sort of colour which indicates you have already bidded for that in the current request. i sent a message through the priceline contact us page but havent had a response. has anyone had this trouble before? i have been trying this strategy earlier in the week to test low bids as well (all unsuccessful) and never had a problem.
thereuare Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! My guess is that you (perhaps mistakenly) bid the 3* level on one of your previous bids... if you check your bid history using the MY PROFILE >> MY TRIPS link on the top right corner of their home page, do any of those rejected bids indicate that you had previously bid 3*?Which zones, dates, and bids have you made? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. chrismb Posted October 4, 2010 Author Report Posted October 4, 2010 No, I definitely didn't. It was an error with the PRICELINE site for sure which I haven't ever come across. Usually it says duplicate request for the situation you have described which is a different looking page to what I got. However, I used a PRICELINE link on here to rebid and it somehow worked eventually, but I'm bidding too low so not willing to share my failures as they won't be any use on here.I can share one success I had though but I don't know where it exactly belongs on the forum - I got 3 1/2 stars Crowne Plaza at LGA Airport for 23 November (1 night) for $100 plus about $30 taxes and fees. I'm from Australia and use PL last year a couple of times when I was in Europe and got a ripper so I'm seeing how I can go for my NYC trip. I figure that I have some time to play around and check out my options.
