imsocloey Posted October 2, 2010 Author Report Posted October 2, 2010 Yes, it is indeed the one on Walton:201 East Walton PlaceChicago, Illinois 60611312-943-9800Thank you for the tip, hope they will be able to accommodate it. Very excited about this website and so upset that I just barely found out about it. Will look forward to future bidding tips/sharing wins/etc.BTW: still in the market for a hotel bid for nyc from 10/31/10-11/3/10, perfectly fine with 3*+ and really not sure about where to stay...just needs to be close to subway/transportation. We've visited 2-3 times, but it's been a while and we stayed at hotels where corporate booked us....so now we are on our own and looking to stay under $175/night after tax. Saw someone else win a bid in Chelsea for $135 for a Sheraton that sounds good....but let me know if you have any tips of what areas are cool to stay...this trip is a graduation gift to by step son who has never been to NYC and will want to do the "touristy" stuff.
AaronJB Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Please post a new thread in the NY forum and we would be more than happy to help with that portion of the stay. This RI property is also in a terrific location right off the North end of the North Michigan Ave. area. Definitely see if you can get a room facing North on one of the top couple of floors; these rooms may not be available, but if they are, they are not considered an upgrade, so it wouldn't be an issue in that regard. Please let me know if you have any questions about the city.
imsocloey Posted October 6, 2010 Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 Please fill me in on any tips you have....love the Hancock Building tip about eating at the restaurant or having drinks instead of just paying to go to the observation deck...things like that...or must see touristy stuff.Thank you so much -- requested the top floors with north facing view...we'll see what we get!
