I got this bid on my 17th try. I first checked the PRICELINE website and saw how much the prices were for the area I wanted to initially stay at which is San Diego Coastal. Here's my bidding strategy:

Started at 4* with San Diego Coastal at $70 - Rejected

Added Coronado at $72 - Rejected

Added Del Mar - Rancho Santa Fe at $74 - Rejected

Decided to drop the star rating to 3.5*. Lowest I would go was 3*. I looked at all my re-bid zones that didn't have 3.5* hotels.

Started at 3.5* with San Diego Coastal at $50 - Rejected

Added Coronado at $52 - Rejected

Added El Cajon - Santee at $54 - Rejected

Added Escondido - Vista at $56 - Rejected

Added Kearny Mesa - Mission Valley North at $58 - Rejected

Added La Mesa at $60 - Rejected

Added Miramar - Rancho Penasquitos - Poway at $62 - Rejected

Added Mission Valley at $63 - Rejected

Added National City - Chula Vista at $65 - Rejected

Added Point Loma - Shelter Island - Old Town at $67 - Rejected

Added San Ysidro - Mexico Border at $69 - Rejected

Added Sorrento Mesa at $71 - Rejected

I decided to change my star rating to 3* and decided to add in Downtown San Diego & Harbor Island

I started with San Diego Coastal at $62 - Rejected
