thereuare Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Can't' be certain as it hasn't been reported to the board as such, but my guess for the 3* is that that President Hotel has been upgraded to the 3* level since it was last reported to the board.I don't have a guess for the 2.5* property, but note that it also charges a Resort fee (whereas the 3* above does not) making it not only lesser rated, but more expensive. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. jasperlui Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 Thanks for all the info, how come the 2.5* star charges a resort fee? If that for all 2.5* hotels?I will now be deciding whether to try and bid on PRICELINE or just use HOTWIRE, need to see which one is cheaper! lolThanks
thereuare Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks for all the info, how come the 2.5* star charges a resort fee? If that for all 2.5* hotels?Any decision to charge resort fees is done at the hotel level and it outside of PRICELINE or HOTWIRE's control... any such fees are payable directly to the hotel. Most 2.5* properties do not charge a resort fee, but the charging of resort fees is becoming more prevalent at hotels across all star levels... it's an additional source of revenue which still allows the hotel to show a low room rate to users who are comparison shopping. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
