Marilipe2000 Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Hi guys,That's my first time in PRICELINE..We are travelling with the kids (5 and 1 year old) to Orlando from 9-18 december. We were looking for a 4*Was hoping to get the Celebration or the Peabody or the Hilton.. any sugestions on how to bid??thanks!
AaronJB Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)A couple of notes:While this isn't quite as much of a concern in Orlando, PRICELINE does only guarantee 1 bed/double occupancy. When using PRICELINE, there is the risk you may only end up with one bed. HOTWIRE, where you can indicate the amount of people in your party, is a better choice in this regard and you are more likely to get some form of bedding for your entire party. There is no way to ensure a particular property or properties when bidding - you have to be willing to accept any of the participating properties at the star rating you bid for. Which areas would you be interested in trying for, and what would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Marilipe2000 Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 Hi,Yes, I'm aware of that.But, in Orlando is it possible to find a 4* or 3,5* that only has 1 bed per room?Our budget is 80 - 100,00 $ per day..Thanks for your help!!Mariana
Marilipe2000 Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 Hi guys!this is my second try at the forum..we'll be traveling from Brazil next december to Miami-OrlandoHave already booked the W hotel in Miami by Hotwire Now we are trying the Orlando HotelWe are in four: Me, DH, and 1 and 5 year oldI'm getting a 4* in international drive south-sea world for 56$ with:fitness center, pool, restaurant, business centre, high speed interenet access, golf nearby and spa services. Is it the Rosen Shingle Creek or the Rosen Center ??any suggestions?thanksbtw: loved the forum!!!
thereuare Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 But, in Orlando is it possible to find a 4* or 3,5* that only has 1 bed per room? It's not just a matter of the hotel only having rooms with one bed... the hotel could assign you to a room with only one bed and may be unable, or unwilling, to switch you to a room with two beds.Is this an acceptable risk for you for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Marilipe2000 Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 When we booked the W in Miami we just called ahead and asked if it was possible and they said no problem.. So We are thinking in finding which are the possible hotels and call ahead just in case!
thereuare Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 And it was nice that the W Hotel was able to do so... the next hotel may be willing to accommodate you just as easily OR they may not be willing to do so at all (or tell you that you'll have to make the request at check-in)If you booked the W Hotel thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE it would be appreciated if you shared your win with the board so that the information can best help other users. :)Let us know how you'd like to proceed with this Orlando leg of your trip. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Marilipe2000 Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 ok!I'm still in doubt cause I read that Rosen Single Creek and the Rosen Center both have WAY too much far away parking lots... I'm thinking about bidding a 4*, may be try for the Celebration Hotel, do you think that's possible?ThanksMariana
thereuare Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 I'm thinking about bidding a 4*, may be try for the Celebration Hotel, do you think that's possible? There is no way to target a specific property when bidding on PRICELINE... you could receive any 4* (or higher) rated hotel in the zone. I can't say the chances of you receiving the Celebration hotel or some other hotel in the zone. Not sure of your needs for this stay, but how about the well reviewed Caribe Royale Resorts Suites and Villas for $94/nite?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.PS- can you please add a reply to your Hotwire Fort Lauderdale thread confirming the rate and the amenities associated with the W Hotel... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. THANKS! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
