clarefp Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Hello Trying to book 2 double rooms 5-7 Nov 10 @ $114 per night.Amenities:GymRestaurantBusiness centreinternet accessCannot see rating for Trip Advisor.Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks :)
thereuare Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! These amenities are common for a 4* hotel in this area and the Crowne Plaza, Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel, Holiday Inn Kensington and Hilton Olympia have all been seen with this amenity combination, so any of these are likely, and with no additional clues provdided by HOTWIRE there would be no way to narrow down the list to determine which may be more/less likely then the others. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. 148jules Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 If it is the one going for $114/night the tripadvisor rating is 3.0 out of 5. The only hotel above that fits the 3/5 tripadvisor rating is the Hilton Olympia. The other hotels are rated higher.
clarefp Posted October 22, 2010 Author Report Posted October 22, 2010 Hi thereI just booked on Hotwire this hotel 3* Notting hill/bayswater (breakfast and high speed internet) for 6/7 Nov and it is: VENTURES HOTEL - so i am absolutely dreading it as the reviews on all websites seem to be awful :) it seems to be a hostel rather than a hotel, some rooms are not en suite! nightmare!I will post my experience once i go.
thereuare Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.Sorry to hear you're disappointed in the results of this purchase. I would contact HOTWIRE and ask them to review this property based upon the Tripadvisor comments... let us know if you make any headway.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel ListPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Hope your stay goes better then you expect. clarefp Posted November 11, 2010 Author Report Posted November 11, 2010 Just back from Ventures Hotel - completely awful as expected!I am really disappointed with how this has turned out and am very tempted not to bother using Hotwire again :)
thereuare Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay... had you tried reaching out to HOTWIRE before your trip?Unfortunately star ratings are a bit more generous in Europe then in the US and other parts of North America... a 3* in Europe can be equivalent to what many expect from a 2.5* or 2* hotel in the US.Hope your future stays work out better than this one did.
