albico Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Hello, this is my first post. Great forums!I want to book a room for my brother in the Austin downtown area for these dates: 10/14/10 to 10/17/10 (Thursday thru Sunday). Is it better to break those dates up? Since it is downtown I am assuming that the week day (Thrusday) is more expensive than the weekends. Any suggestions? I saw that a couple of folks won the Holidayy Inn Town Lake for $55, which seems like an perfect property for his stay. These bids were won back in June and July, should I bid the same, less? I would think that summer is the busy season but I have no clue really.Any help is appreciated, thanks.P.s. I plan to use the PRICELINE link of course! :)
AaronJB Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired budget per night, and desired star rating? This is an extremely busy set of dates in Austin and unfortunately rates are noticeably more expensive - HOTWIRE is showing a 3* for $154 and two grey/regular rate listings (one 3.5*, one 4*) for $229 & $230.Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.
albico Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 The desired budget is up to $60 per night plus the taxes but based on the info you provided it sounds like there would be a slim chance of getting that. He was hoping to stay in the downtown area and based on previous wins I thought it might work.He may just have to be ok with switching areas.
