Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip) Venetian

Hi,

I'm planing to visit vegas towards the end of this month, is there any big convention or event happening in Vegas on the week of 3/30 to 4/04 ??

I was checking on Expedia and rooms were booked for most of the weekdays (Aladin, Luxor....etc)

Is it too late to try bidding on PL to try to find a 5* hotel either on strip or off strip.

One other questions: how can I gurrantee a room with two queen beds ??

Are 3/30-4/4 the actual dates of your stay?

Do you currently have a back-up reservation anywhere (if so, where and how much?)

You can only guarantee a room with two queen beds by booking directly the the hotel (and we just became affiliates of the MGM MIRAGE properties), however, there are some 'tricks' that can be done to ensure two beds (not necessarily queen sized) in the room.

We might break the stay by going to Gran canyon for one night, that depends on how our hotels prices pans out.

I don't have any reservation so far, I would like to start bidding soon on PL.

should I just forget about trying to get a 5* hotel and book some resonable 3* ??

I know it's going to be difficult to get some decent place for fri & sat, may be we could goto G.canyon for fri night.

We'll need a bit more information... what type of prices would you need to select which dates?

We also can't say if you should stop trying for a 5* as you haven't said at what price you're expecting for that star quality.

I would like to go upto $130 for the 5*.......and upto $70 for 3*.........do you think it might be tough to get it at these prices ???

Based upon current rates i think you're going to have to raise your dollar amounts (except for the last nite of your stay, which is inexpensive).

March Madness: NCAA semi finals on 4-2 and the championship on 4-4. This is a BIG weekend in Vegas.

NCAA is one of the BIGGEST weekends in Vegas.

In addition to the normal weekend and NCAA tourney crowds, there are a couple of mid-sized conventions:

International Sign Association 3/30 to 4/2 18,000 delegates

Pizzaeria Operators Association 3/30 to 4/1 10,000 delegates

ASI Show 3/30 to 4/1 12,000 delegates

and a lot of smaller meetings

All of these factors taken together mean that (potentially) rooms will be tight.

There's a post here that got the 5* Venetian for $99 on 4/3-4/5. Maybe you can work around that.

Hi,

I'm back and decided to move our trip to 4/9 the week. We'll be going to G.canyon for 4/8 - 4/9 and then staying at Vegas from 4/10 to 4/13th.

My first bid for 5* 4/10 to 4/13 was for $85 ( just tried) rejected but it came back and says that they could give me a one time offer of $110 per night for 5*........should I take this ??

I saw a another poster saying he got 5* for $99 same period, should I try increase it to $90 or even $95 ??? the maximum I was planing to go was $100 per night.

What do suggest ?? Is 5* on the strip always means Venetian ?? I would like to get the Venetian.

Use you're re-bid zones in order to gradually raise your bids... be sure to hit the $99 figure along the way. If you need a more detailed strategy let us know but i'm on my way out the door.

When we were in Vegas last month we got great tickets to Zumanity through the concierge at the Paris. We booked the same day, and paid the actual ticket price and got the best (VIP) seats in the house for the actual ticket price (i.e., no mark-up and no service-charge).

So, maybe check out going through the concierge at the Hotel you're staying at?
