Priceline Hotel: Resort Phoenix (Scottsdale) Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center

I actually would like some help with the resort in PHX if possible.

I went through the entire list of Resorts in the PHX area on PRICELINE and noticed that lots of people have been successful in the (NORTH) region in the $55-65 range, but so far I have put in a bid of $65 for North Scottsdale, Scottsdale, and North regions for 3 days in November (11th-14th). From now on, I will only bid in the North Scottsdale, and North regions of Phoenix as those are what I'd prefer. I also noticed that most people get into the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, while a few get in to the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort, and then a very small amount into the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. In the Scottsdale North Region, I haven't seen anyone in anything except the the Princess Fairmont (which I would be thrilled with and willing to pay 80-95).

With all this being said, perhaps I should wait a month or two? It seems as though if many many people were able to get in to the PHX North region for 45-65, then perhaps it's poor timing.

Any advice at all is much appreciated.

You can wait, but here is an "issue" that i'm observing...

Enter the following into the QUICK SEARCH BOX at the top of the page "Resort Phoenix North -Scottsdale" (without the quotes)... this will search the board for Resort wins which contain Phoenix and North, but not Scottsdale (threfore not showing us wins in the North Scottsdale zone). Scan thru the listings and you'll see almost all the wins are for the March-June timeframe... very, very few wins for September-November, so this time of year may be peak season for the area and therefore very little or no inventory offered to the opaque suppliers in these months as the hotel figure they can likely sell most of their rooms on their own at full price.

I do believe that winter is peak season for this area, but hopefully somebody local to the area can confirm.

Yes winter is definitely peak season here as it is currently 102 degrees at 10PM right now, so summer is the best chance to grab the best rates but with the economy the way it is there were some deals last winter, but with that being said anything under 100.00 in Nov for resort in N Phx, Scottsdale will be hard to find. The Pointe properties and JW Marriott are the only resorts in N Phx I believe with JW being the best followed by Tapatio then Squaw Peak.

Thanks for the info aztpk. I noticed last year someone bid in late october for the same weekends I'm looking for. He bid in the "Scottsdale" region and got the Hyatt Regency for $70. This makes me wonder if it will be cheaper as we get closer. Has anyone done any case studies on this?

I think I'm going to put my bidding on hold for a while as the prices are getting quite a bit higher than other's winnings online.

I'm up to $115 for North Scottsdale (Fairmont Princess)

I'm up to $76 for Scottsdale (North) (Hilton Pointes and JW).

I've held off on the Scottsdale region as I don't really want the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Centre.

I have been bidding forever and my patience finally paid off. I know there is an additional fee for this resort, but I also know $84 (total) dollars for a luxury resort is also phenomenal. Online price for the unit was $148 per night.

Thank you better bidding for your help- will use again.

Also, I found it very helpful to track the non- bid on it price. Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center was always listed for around $130-200 per night. However, I noticed that on the priceline website it dropped to $100. I set my search at Scottsdale, north Scottsdale and Phoenix North hopeing to get on of the Hiltons, princess or scottsdale resort.

I do think the summer months are MUCH easier to get a bargain than the fall.

That's what I've learned- I hope it helps someone.
